We're incredibly proud to see our colleague Pete recognised as a Scottish EDGE Wild Card winner and awarded £10,000 to support the launch of his latest venture, Kit Fresh.

Scottish EDGE is one of the UK's leading funding competitions for high-growth businesses, providing funding, support and recognition to ambitious entrepreneurs. In the latest round of awards, Kit Fresh was selected as one of the Wild Card winners, recognising both the strength of the idea and its potential for growth.

For Pete, this recognition marks the beginning of a new chapter in a journey that started more than 20 years ago with his first business. Like many entrepreneurs, that journey has included successes, setbacks and plenty of lessons learned along the way.

Reflecting on the award, Pete shared that it had taken him several years to build the confidence to start another venture after running his first business for 14 years. While the funding itself is hugely valuable, he also spoke about the importance of the validation that comes from having experienced entrepreneurs and judges recognise the potential in an idea.

What we love most about this story is the honesty behind it. Starting again takes courage. Taking the lessons from previous successes and setbacks and backing yourself to have another go is exactly the entrepreneurial mindset we encourage every day at Bright Red Triangle.

Anyone who has worked with Pete knows that he's rarely short of ideas. More often than not, he's exploring a new concept, testing a product, experimenting with a tool, or diving into something simply to understand it better. Curiosity comes naturally to him, and that willingness to learn by doing is one of the things that makes him such a valuable member of our team.

Pete spends so much of his time helping entrepreneurs, students and founders develop their ideas, navigate challenges and build the confidence to take the next step. What makes this achievement particularly special is seeing him put those lessons into practice himself.

He doesn't just advise founders on the entrepreneurial journey—he actively experiences it. By testing ideas, learning new skills, validating opportunities and navigating uncertainty, Pete continually builds knowledge and experience that he can bring back into the support he provides to others.

Seeing Kit Fresh recognised by Scottish EDGE is a fitting reward for the curiosity, resilience and entrepreneurial spirit that Pete brings to everything he does. We're excited to see where this latest venture takes him.
