  • Are you a current Edinburgh Napier University student, member of staff, or recent graduate with an established business?

    Applications are now open for the Santander Universities Enterprise Fund, offering three awards of £5,000 to support entrepreneurial activity across the ENU community.

    This fund is designed to help ambitious founders take the next step in their business journey. Whether you need support to buy equipment, develop your website or app, create marketing materials, attend events, cover business travel, or fund creative production costs, this opportunity could help you move your business forward.

    At Bright Red Triangle, we want to help you put forward the strongest possible application. Our team is available to chat through your idea, help you shape your funding request, and support you with your application before submission. Book an appointment on the community platform

  • Who can apply?

    You are eligible to apply if you are:

    • a current ENU student
    • a current ENU staff member
    • a recent ENU graduate who graduated within the last 5 years

    Applicants must already have an established business with activity underway. Early-stage ideas at the ideation stage are not eligible for this fund.

  • What can the funding be used for?

    The Santander Universities Enterprise Fund is intended to support business growth and entrepreneurial ambition. Funding may be used for a wide range of business-related costs, including:

    • equipment purchases
    • marketing materials
    • website or app development
    • creative production costs, including shows or exhibitions
    • business travel
    • conference or event attendance/exhibiting fees
    • other costs directly related to business development

    Applicants will need to provide a clear and detailed breakdown of how the funding will be spent.

  • What is available?

    There are three awards of £5,000 available.

    As this is a competitive funding call, applications should clearly demonstrate:

    • your ambitions for the business
    • what progress you have already made
    • how the funding will support your next stage of growth

    Preference will be given to applicants who can show recent or future business growth.

  • Important information

    Applications will be assessed by a panel including senior ENU staff and a Business Advisers from Bright Red Triangle. Applicants may occasionally be asked for additional information before a final decision is made.

    Successful applicants will receive contact from a member of BRT to communicate next steps for funding. Award holders must be able to provide evidence that the funding has been spent as outlined in their application.

    Successful applicants may also be asked to take part in ENU and Santander promotional activity, including web, print, alumni, and social media content.
