Data Equity Incubator
Supporting ethnic minority women to grow ideas into ventures through data and insight
Ready to make a difference? This course empowers ethnic minority women to start and grow data-led businesses or community ventures.

What stage does my idea or business need to be at?
Any stage is welcome. You might just have an idea, be testing something small, or already be trading. The programme is designed to be flexible, so you can apply what you learn to your current idea and to future ventures too.
Is this programme only for tech or data-focused businesses?
No. Your business does not need to be a tech or data business. The skills you’ll learn - such as understanding customers, using information to make decisions, and working more confidently with digital tools - are useful across all sectors, from social enterprise and freelancing to creative and commercial ventures.

Do I need experience in data, AI, or technology to take part?
No. You don’t need any prior experience in data, AI, or tech. The programme is designed for beginners and starts from the basics, using practical tools and plain language. If you’re curious and willing to learn, you’re in the right place.
Dreaming of starting a business, exploring a new idea, or building something of your own? The DATA EQUITY INCUBATOR is designed to support ethnic minority women to grow ideas into confident, data-informed ventures - at any stage.
Led by DataKirk and supported by Bright Red Triangle, this new pilot programme offers a supportive space to learn, experiment, and build. You’ll be guided by data and enterprise specialists, learn alongside other women with ideas, and develop practical skills you can apply now and in the future.
The Data Equity Incubator runs from March to July, combining online workshops with in-person sessions. Through hands-on learning, mentoring, and peer support, you’ll build confidence in using data, digital tools, and AI to understand customers, shape ideas, and communicate your venture clearly.
Along the way, you’ll grow a supportive network, strengthen your business thinking, and develop skills that can support a business, social enterprise, freelance work, or future venture — whatever path you choose next.
The DATA EQUITY INCUBATOR is inclusive of Trans and Intersex women, as well as non-binary and gender diverse people who are comfortable in a space that centres the experiences of women.
Places are limited to ensure the cohort can make the most of the experience, attendance is required at all sessions so that participants can make the most of interactive elements, peer learning and community building.
